Privacy Policy

How Streamotive handles information when you use our website and Twitch or YouTube integrated tools. Streamotive is a read-only API consumer. Authentication and account data are held by Twitch and Google, not by Streamotive.

This policy describes how Streamotive ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use streamotive.com, app.streamotive.com and any related tools, browser sources, or overlays (together, the "Service").

1. What Streamotive is and how it works

Streamotive is a read-only consumer of the Twitch API and the YouTube Data API. We do not operate an independent identity system or a database of your streaming data, followers, clips, or account statistics. The data our tools display is fetched in real time from those platforms' APIs at your request and returned to your browser session.

Authentication is handled entirely through Twitch OAuth and Google OAuth. When you log in, you are authenticating with Twitch or Google directly. Streamotive never receives, sees, or stores your Twitch or Google password. The account credentials, payment methods and profile data associated with those accounts are held and governed by Twitch and Google under their own privacy policies, not by Streamotive.

This architecture means the volume of personal data Streamotive itself holds is minimal by design.

2. Information we receive and how we use it

2.1 From Twitch OAuth

When you connect your Twitch account, Twitch passes us an OAuth access token and the public profile fields you authorise (typically your username, user ID and profile image URL). We use this to:

  • Identify your session and link your configuration to the correct Twitch account
  • Make read-only API calls to Twitch on your behalf (for example, fetching your clips or follower count for display in our tools)

We request only the minimum scopes necessary for the features you use. You can review and revoke Streamotive's access to your Twitch account at any time through your Twitch Connections settings.

2.2 From Google OAuth (YouTube)

Where you connect a Google account for YouTube features, Google passes us an OAuth token and the profile fields you authorise. The same principles apply: read-only access, minimum scopes and revocable at any time through your Google Account permissions.

Use of YouTube API Services by Streamotive is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

2.3 Technical and usage data

Like most websites, our servers may log:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages or API endpoints requested
  • Timestamps

This data is used solely to operate, monitor and secure the Service. It is not sold and it is not used for advertising.

2.4 Configuration data

Settings you save within the Service (for example, transition preferences in the BRB tool, or display options in other overlays) are stored to restore your configuration between sessions. This data is tied to your Twitch user ID and contains no sensitive personal information.

3. What we do not collect or store

  • Your Twitch or Google password
  • Payment card details (we do not process payments directly; any paid plan billing is handled by our payment processor under their own privacy terms)
  • Your private messages or stream content
  • Data from viewers of your stream
  • Your channel's subscriber or revenue data (we do not request scopes that expose financial information)

4. How we use the information we hold

We use the information described above to:

  • Authenticate you and maintain your session
  • Deliver the features of the Service you have requested
  • Restore your saved configuration preferences
  • Monitor for abuse, security incidents and technical issues
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Infrastructure providers: Hosting, CDN and database providers who process data on our behalf under contractual data processing terms
  • Legal requirements: Where we are required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority to disclose information
  • Business transfers: If Streamotive is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new entity, which will be bound to honour this policy

We do not share your data with Twitch, Google, or any other third party for their independent use beyond what is inherent in the OAuth flows described above.

6. Third-party platforms

Streamotive integrates with third-party platforms including Twitch and YouTube. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies:

Streamotive is not responsible for the privacy practices of those platforms. We recommend reviewing their policies directly.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain your authenticated session
  • Store your tool configuration preferences between visits
  • Measure basic anonymous usage metrics (for example, page views) to improve the Service

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

8. Data retention

We retain configuration data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you disconnect Twitch or Google OAuth, the associated session and configuration data can be deleted on request. OAuth tokens are not stored permanently; they expire and are refreshed in accordance with the respective platform's token lifetime.

Technical log data is retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes, then deleted.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for all data transmission between your browser and our servers. Because Streamotive does not hold passwords or payment data independently, the attack surface for sensitive personal data is narrow. That said, no internet service can guarantee absolute security and we encourage you to take reasonable steps to protect your own accounts, including using strong passwords and two-factor authentication on your Twitch and Google accounts.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, including:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to restrict or object to certain processing
  • The right to data portability (where applicable)
  • The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Help page. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. Note that because most of the data connected to your Streamotive account originates from and is held by Twitch or Google, exercising rights over that data (such as deletion) may require action directly with those platforms.

GDPR and UK GDPR: If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA: If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

12. International transfers

Streamotive operates primarily within the United Kingdom. If your data is processed or stored on infrastructure outside your country, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection law, including standard contractual clauses where required.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree with the updated policy, please stop using the Service.
